About
Roding Valley High School is 30 years old this September (2019), having been established in 1989. The history of the school and its development throughout the years makes it the outstanding school that it is today. The constants have always been that it has remained a community school serving primarily the communities of Loughton and Buckhurst Hill. At the school’s heart has always been the development of the full child and Roding Valley High School has always offered excellent extra curricular opportunities, particularly in the fields of sport and drama.
Roding Valley High School is an amalgamation of three different schools within the local community: the former Loughton County High School for Girls, Buckhurst Hill County High School for Boys and Epping Forest High School. The school has always been served by its headteachers, all of whom have seeked to push the school forward.
The setting up of the Roding Valley Sixth Form three years ago has allowed us to now offer the same opportunities at post-16. It has been wonderful for the school’s staff to see this important development for Roding Valley High School flourish in that time.
The Roding Velley High School spirit is one of team work and seeking to obtain the very best from staff and pupils alike.
Here is to the next 30 years.
